SGX aka Danny Adler has been transmitting rhythmic electronic sound compositions into user ear cavities since the Great Ear Candy Famine of '01. Melodious orchestrations and atmospherics offset with sweet-ass beats and big bass are his M.O. SGX's motile creations will altogether eliminate your need for motor-vehicles and sometimes even your feet. Hope that you didn't need to go to the dentist or anything today, because that isn't where you're being taken. Jump into some SGX today! (SGX washes out of clothes in hot water cycle)
What does your name mean?
Long story short: I was young. I needed a screen name for AIM. The Fifth Element was one of my favorite movies and they say "green!" instead of "cool" in the future. So, I am "super cool" aka "super green." Of course this was not unique enough, and someone had already thought of this. Tack on the X because it is much cooler than some random numbers. This can be shortened to "SGX" which is cooler, or something. So, call me SGX. I have attempted to come up with new words that it could be an acronym for, but the best I got was, "Super Ginormous Xylophone."

Equipment:
All my older songs were made using my Yamaha cs1x synth. This synth is pretty old. I bought it off of ebay in 2000 I think, and I believe that it was first commercially released in '96 or so. It's not quite state of the art and its also not vintage and cool. I used to record myself playing the synth live, edit the recording into a loop, and ran loops in Acid Pro 3.0. If you are not familiar with music production (particularly electronic/techno stuff) this is a kindof ass-backwards way of doing things. I do not recommend this method. However, my experience with audio has given me an appreciation and appetite for audio manipulation. You can do some cool things! BT (my idol) actually works in a similar way to my old style! All of my songs dated before 2003 were made in this style.
Currently, my main tools are Reason 3.0 and Ableton Live 6. I also like ACID Pro and Cakewalk Project5 a lot too. A lot of my music from two years to a year ago was mostly just Reason 2.5.

Do you have an album out (in stores)?
Yes, in online stores. Check the albums section of the site. I'm not planning on having an album released through a real record company for a while. First, I would have to get a record deal, and if I did get one, the pressure, stress, and expectations of making music primarily for money would turn making music into a job more than a really fun hobby. Plus, I wouldn't be able to give away my music for free on this webpage. The most important thing to me currently is to get my music heard by as many people as possible. Free internet downloads are the best way to go right now. If you want to say thanks for the free music, buy my albums!
Do you play any instruments/have any training?
I played trumpet from the fourth grade until my freshman year in college. I was first trumpet all county band in 8th grade and certified 100% hot shit. I also played some french horn for a short while in highschool. I don't play the piano, and have only a small amount of basic music theory knowledge learned from school that I do not often employ.
What's the deal with remixing game tunes?
Games have some sweet tunes. Honestly, I wouldn't remix much or at all if it weren't for the recognition and attention it gets me. Posting mixes at OCremix and Vgmix generates a lot of interest in my originals which are what I am the most proud of. Doing tracks for KFSS Studios also gets my music out to another audience, so that's cool.
